Walt
Disney World
Walt Disney World
premiere attraction is broken into seven basic areas. Guests enter
Main Street, a early-20th century shopping plaza, with City
Hall, At the end of main street is the magical view of Cinderella
Castle.
The park is laid out like a wheel with spokes. Starting east
from Cinderella Castle and moving clockwise, visitors
encounter Tomorrowland (showcasing future technologies), Fantasyland
(featuring Disney's most beloved animated charters), Frontierland
and Liberty Square (celebrating colonial life) and Adventureland
(jungle adventure from Africa, Asia and South America). In 1995,
the Magic Kingdom opened a new-and-improved Tomorrowland
and the next year opened Mickey's Toontown Fair, a private
look at the master mouse's domicile.

Disney/MGM Studios
Disney has also
dedicated MGM to showcasing rides, plays and other attractions
based on their current animated and live action films for kids.
"The Little Mermaid" and "The Hunchback of Notre
Dame" have shows, "101 Dalmatians" has a
behind-the-scenes tour, and the characters from "Toy
Story" and "Hercules" have been paraded through the
streets of the park in recent years. Throughout the years,
MGM has been a work in progress. Star Tours, a ride
dedicated to the Star Wars trilogy opened in 1990; and the next
year saw the creation of Sunset Boulevard, including the haunted,
elevator drop Tower of Terror ride.

of five distinct islands: Seuss Landing, a fantasy land with
restaurants, attractions and shops based on the late Theodore
Geisel's books; The Lost Continent, a land of myths and legends
which mixes Middle Ages, Renaissance, and ancient Greek cultures;
Jurassic Park, themed to look like Isla Nubar, the dinosaur-making
island from the hit movies; Toon Lagoon, featuring favorite
characters from the newspaper funny pages such as Popeye, Betty
Boop and Dagwood; and Marvel Comic Superhero Island, which is
filled with Spidey, the Hulk, the X-Men and a host of other

Sea World
A part of the
Central Florida landscape for more than a quarter of a century,
SeaWorld Orlando presents a comfortable, interactive look at the
sea and all its facets.
The park combines an educational look at marine life with a spirit
of whimsy. Shamu is almost as recognizable as Mickey as a symbol
of family theme park fun -- almost. Serious interaction with live
killer whales, dolphins and other sea life contrasts with the
silliness of stage shows such as the Clyde and Seamore sea lion
extravaganza and the Intensity Games water ski show.
The newest additions to the park have come in the form of the
chilly action of Wild Arctic and easy-going, tropical colors of
Key West. In April 1998, SeaWorld unveiled its salute to the water
of mythology, Journey to Atlantis. Atlantis features a rollicking
thrill water/roller coaster ride unlike any before it.

Kennedy Space Center
Helping the north
Atlantic coast of Florida live up to its nickname as the
"Space Coast," the Kennedy Space Center (KSC) has been a
part of the Central Florida landscape for more than a quarter
century. Throughout its history, KSC has focused on giving
visitors the closest possible view of the United States' space
program, both past and present. And considering Central Florida's
growing reputation as the home of theme parks and tourist
attractions, opening the National Aeronautics and Space
Administration's facility to tourists seemed like the perfect
idea.
